NEWS UPDATE - 13 To Become A Staged Musical Film

CBS Films has announced that they are in the process of turning this stage musical into a film. The project is in development. Jason Robert Brown, who wrote the music and lyrics for 13,will be writing the score. Bert V. Royal is writing the film adaptation with Laurence Mark producing. Bob Boyett is also producing with David Blackman as the executive producer.

No word yet as to when we will see this on the big screen.

"13 The Musical " previewed on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 and officially opened at The Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on Sunday, October 5, 2008.

A Musical Comedy about growing up and learning to know yourself, this show is sure to be a hit with all ages.

The all teenage cast includes Al Calderon as Eddie, Eamon Foley as Richie, Caitlin Gann as Molly, Ariana Grande as Charlotte, Aaron Simon Gross as Archie, Elizabeth Gillies as Lucy, Malik Hammond as Malcolm, Joey La Varco as Simon, Delaney Moro as Kendra, Eric Nelsen as Brett, Graham Phillips as Evan, Allie Trimm as Patrice, Brynn Williams as Cassie.

Additional cast members are Riley Costello, Henry Hodges, Mary Claire Miskell, Liana Ortiz, Max Schneider and Corey Snide.

There is an on-stage teen band whose members are Lexi Bodick on Bass, Zac Coe on Percussion, Adam Kaufman on Keyboard, Zach Page on Guitar, Chris Raymond on Guitar, Charlie Rosen (Swing Musician).

The high energy show has a book by award winning children's author & songwriter Dan Elish ("Born Too Short, Confessions of an 8th Grade Basket Case") and TV & Film writer, Robert Horn ("Designing Women"). It is directed by Tony Award nominee Jeremy Sams (The Sound of Music in the West End) and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Christopher Gattelli (South Pacific). The Music Director is Tom Kitt (High Fidelity).
