Broadway Roles for Kids

* Arranged Alphabetically by Show *

broadway plays

Never audition for Broadway roles for kids again(just joking)...without first checking this catalog.

If you have ever gone to audition for a Broadway role for kids without first checking what parts were available, you put yourself at a disadvantage for that audition. So start helping yourself.

Use this listing to figure out what Broadway roles for kids you are suitable for, and whether or not the music for the role is in your vocal range.

Start by getting a copy of the vocal selections from the show. You can find them on the internet or at many libraries. If you are using the library, you will probably have to go to the reference section and you most likely will not be able to take the book home. Most of this material is copyrighted and there are restrictions on copying and distribution. Once you obtain a copy of the music, if you need to prepare a 16 Bar Audition Song you can get information on how to do that by clicking on the preceding link.

You can also go over some of the dialogue for a potential role. Everything here is listed alphabetically so start your investigation, now. Determine what you need and go out to find it.

Some of these shows, although they have kids roles, are not meant for general audiences, so if in doubt check them out before auditioning.

There is nothing worse than being surprised at an audition. This happened to by son one time. He auditioned for a role and was cast in the part but did not accept the role. He did not like the way the character was portrayed in the play, nor did he like the language the character used. He did not want to identify with that character. This is an individual choice that should be made by each kid and his/her parent.

Please Note: I don't claim that this is an all inclusive list. If you know of a Broadway role for kids from a show that I don't have listed, please use my contact form to send the information my way. I will be updating this page periodically... Thanks!
